Coverage we place
Two lines of business, carried by one licensed agent. Follow either one for how it actually works.
Employee benefits for businesses
Group medical, dental, vision and life, built around what a company can sustain and what its people will actually use. Renewal strategy, contribution modeling, and an enrollment meeting your crew can sit through.
Group benefits
Voluntary worksite benefits
Accident, disability, critical illness and hospital coverage that employees choose and fund themselves. No cost to the company.
WorksiteYou will not be handed to an account team.
Strategy Matters is one licensed agent. When you call, you reach Michelle Hames, and she is the same person who quoted the plan, who runs the enrollment meeting, and who picks up in October when a claim goes sideways.
That is the whole model. It is also the reason the book stays a size one person can genuinely serve, which is a deliberate limit rather than an ambition not yet met.
- 2009
- Licensed in California, continuously, since October of that year.
- 2019
- Strategy Matters opened as an independent brokerage, appointed directly with its carriers.
- One agent
- On the account from first quote through renewal. There is no hand off, because there is nobody to hand off to.
Built for East County businesses.
El Cajon, Santee, Lakeside, Alpine, La Mesa, and out across the county. Plenty of the companies here run crews rather than cubicles, and their benefits problems look different for it: shift workers, headcount that moves with the season, a payroll that is never the same twice, and employees who are not going to read a benefits booklet cover to cover.
Seventeen years in this specific market is the part that does not transfer from a downtown consultancy.
“Doing the right thing for the right reason. It is as simple as that.”
Licensing, in plain terms.
Both licenses are public record with the California Department of Insurance, and you are welcome to look them up. Here is what they do and do not cover.
What we are licensed to place
- Life insurance, individual and group
- Accident and Health or Sickness, which covers group medical, dental, vision and disability products
- Individual license 0G78983, active since October 23, 2009
- Organization license 0M97810, active since May 14, 2019
What we are not licensed to place
- No property or casualty authority is held on either license
- That means no general liability, commercial auto, workers compensation, or homeowners coverage
- If you need those, say so and you will be pointed to a property and casualty broker rather than sold something adjacent
